COLORADO 80226 <br />October 27, 1983 <br />Mined Land Reclamation Act <br />Corporation's annual fee of <br />Regarding the Notice of Intent to Continue Mining Operations (Annual F;eport), <br />the following information is provided. All information relevant to mining and <br />reclamation activities was presented to the Division in an up-to-date report on <br />July 15, 1983, as part of the mining permit amendment application for the Schwartz- <br />walder mine. This amendment application was approved by the Mined Larid Reclam- <br />ation Board on July 27, 1983. Additional informtion with respect to torehole <br />reclamation, topsoil cover for the waste piles and reclamation plans i~or the <br />borehole adit access road was submitted to the Division in correspondE~nce dated <br />September 27, 1983. <br />The status of mining and reclamation activities has remained as presented in the <br />permit amendment application report text with the following exception: <br />Approximately 26,000 cubic yards of waste rock has been removed <br />from the east waste pile. <br />2. The old settling ponds (3 through 5) associated with the water <br />treatment plant have been replaced with a membrane lined emergency <br />water storage pond. <br />An up-to-date map which reflects the current configuration of the east. waste pile <br />and the construction of the emergency water storage pond will be prepared and <br />submitted to the Division by December 1, 1983. Revegetation of the soil under- <br />lying the east waste pile area which was exposed during waste rock removal <br />operation is scheduled for Spring of 1984. <br />If there are any questions regarding this information, please contact me. <br />Sincerely, <br />1 vJf`~ <br />J.
