Sedalia Recycling center & <br />Land use Depository <br />Current land use is dominated by a clay mining operation, the Ute Mine, which has been permitted by <br />the state of Colorado since 1978. Heavy equipment, access roads, and stockpiles of clay make up <br />approximately 1/3 of the current land use. A majority of the land rests in mixed grasses, both native and <br />reclamation mixes, minimal Ponderosa pines and low shrub species. An herbicidal spray program is in <br />operation to control invasive weeds.
