'r . <br />~..:~-. <br />(•.Fi; i 198 <br />:~F{_~ .. .. .. ... <br />~. <br />On February 23, 1988, the Bear Coal Ccargk-~ny sukmitted our Annual <br />Hydrology Report for 1987 for the Bear Number Three Mine. <br />In this report we stated that. we had sent the quality data on alluvial <br />well AA1 to ACZ, Inc., and requested that they evaluate the data and sutmit <br />• to us their recommendations concerning this well. Enclosed, is a mpy of a <br />letter from Eldon Strid, with ACZ, Inc., which was sent pursuant to our <br />request. <br />This letter suggests that we take several steps to alleviate the <br />problems with the samiples. 'Itie letter also states that in the event these <br />steps are unsuccessful, we will probably have to replace the well. It is our <br />intention to begin taking the steps suggested by Mr. Strid as soon as weather <br />permits. We will notify the Division as to our success following our <br />completion of the ACZ recotrtnendations. <br />In reference to the 1967 Annual Hydrology Report, we inadvertently <br />neglected to discuss inflows at the Bear Numiber Three Mine during 1987. <br />Please be advised that in 1987 there were no seeps inside our mine that <br />created any inflows of water into the mine. <br />If you should require additional information, please contact me. <br /> <br />Sincerely, <br />BEAR COAL COMPANY, INC. <br />
