The new cracks were smaller than usual and
ran from east to west over the pillared portion of the section,
approximately over crosscut 30. The Huntington Ditch crosses
section No. 4 Right at about crosscut 10, so the ditch will not
be threatened for about 20 more crosscuts, or about 1200 feet.
An inspection of the subsidence cracks noted in previous reports
revealed considerable "healing" over the winter. Several cracks
were barely noticeable. No cracks were located in the vicinity
of the Huntington Ditch.
Call if you have questions or comments.
Sincerely,
~~` /~-
Tom Bird
Planning & Engineering
(Chief Crack Inspector)
National King Coal, Inc.
Telephone: Telephone:
(303) 259-2418 (303) 385-1528
Fs:: Fex:
(303) 259.4818 (303) 385-1839
