Kaiser Ventures, Inc. is the permittee and Mr. Mike Keegan is the contact person. His address is P.O. Box 37, Desert Center, CA 92239. The permit area is located on 312 acres of private land approximately 4 miles northwest of Walsenburg in Section 25, T27S, Rfi7W. Mine disturbance affected approximately 60 acres. The pit area was reclaimed in 1989 and the sediment control system was reclaimed in 1992 with shrub and warm season grass interseeding in 1993. The only reclamation activity which occurred at the site during 1995 was the interseeding of five small areas which had sparse vegetative cover as a result of sediment control facilities removal in 1992. These areas are shown on the attached portion of Map 5, Reclaimed Areas, of the permit document. These areas accounted for less than two (2) acres of interseeding. Rill and gully inspections did not show evidence of any erosional features on the reclaimed areas throughout the year.
