Long
Di~isiun Durclor
The Division of Minerals and Geology has completed review of the 1999 Annual Hydrology Report for
the Lorencito Canyon mine. Due to the continued delay in start-up of mining operations at the site, the
data recorded continues to reflect baseline hydrologic conditions. The Division approved a reduction in
the frequency of sampling in early 1999.
Water level and quality remains basically unchanged and parameters continue to reflect baseline
conditions.
Two minor errors were noted as a result of data review. For bedrock wells, the data sheet should reflect
units of measurement as feet rather than cfs. Also, for well M W-31, the data entry of 381.70 feet should
likely be 281.70 feet, given the total depth of the well. Please correct this information in future reports.
The Division has no further questions at this time. Thank you for conducting monitoring in accordance
with your approved plan.
Sincere ~~ ''
ti'~~~~
Ken[ Gorham
Environmental Protection Specialist
STATE OF COLORADO
cc: Dan Hernandez, DMG
