The ARR map was
also include with the report and reviewed accordingly.
The acreage reported concurs with the information recently approved under Technical
Revision #13. The acres reported as backfilled and graded (122.1 ac) when added to
the acreage in long-term facilities (31.7 ac) and the acreage in active mining areas (0
ac) equals the total disturbed area (153.8 ac). When the borrow topsoil borrow area is
disturbed in 2005 (2.7 ac) and the acres still subject to reclamation (4.9 ac) are
reclaimed, the mine will report 129.7 acres of backfilling and grading and 26.8 acres of
permanent facilities which totals 156.5 acres (153.8 ac + 2.7 ac borrow area).
One helpful addition to the map would be to add the area description or code as
designated on Tables ARR-1 and ARR-2 to the appropriate areas on the ARR map.
Twenty-four bags of seed were shipped and received in January 2004 according to an
invoice included in this year's report. Receipts for delivery of certified weed-free straw
bales were also included. The seed mix and mulch used are in accordance with the
approved reclamation plan.
We have no further questions at this time. Thank you for your diligence in completing
your monitoring and reporting requirements. If you have any questions, please call me.
Sincer ly,
~~~
K t Gorham
Environmental Protection Specialist
Office of Office of Colorado
Mined Land Reclamation Active and Inactive Mines Geological Survey
