~OiICE OF INTENT TO CONTINUE: • III~IIIIIIII'III~II
999 111
PIT NAME: SHIPPS PIT {`^1,~~ ~~-\~2,
OPERATOR: DIVISION OF HIGHWAYS - STATE OF COLORADO
SUBSTANCE MINED: SAND AND GRAVEL
Pursuant to the requirements stated in Section 1.62 and Section 3.4 of
the Rules and Regulations of the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board,
as amended in July of 1978, we are submitting the following information
on our permitted area known as the Shipps Pit.
As stated in our initial application, our work in this area is not a
continuous operation. During the past 12 months material was excavated
only during January and February of 1979. The quantity removed was
approximately 5000 tons. This material was removed from the dry creek
channel, so no additional overburden was removed. Some of this material
has been removed from the site, but there are three stockpiles left
that will be removed as it is needed on the road.
We did no major reclamation during the past year and plan to do no
final reclamation until we are ready to release the area. Until that
time we will just do routine clean up and grading after each operation.
