Dept. of Natural Resources <br />(1) During [he past year, approximately 4.5 acres at the west end of the <br />North Lake were mined. <br />(2) The shoreline along the west end of the North Lake has been backfilled <br />and graded to a 3:1 slope. This area is 2.0 acres. In addition, 1.75 <br />acres along the northwest shoreline of the South Lake has been backfilled <br />and graded to a 3:1 slope. <br />(3) To this date, the shoreline of both South and T!orth Lake has been back- <br />filled and graded. This work amounts to approximately 16 acres. The <br />2 acre topsoil stockpile has a grass cover growing on it. <br />(4) No vegetation planted this year. <br />(5) No fertilizers, organic material, or soil conditioners used this year. <br />(6) Reclamation efforts to date have been successful. Some areas along the <br />shoreline have been eroded by wave action due to the high winds of this <br />spring's storms. These areas will be regraded and excessively eroded <br />areas will be stabilized by rock or broken concrete. <br />(7) IJe plan to mine approximately 20 acres of resource between the scale <br />house and the processing plant along Brighton Road. <br />(8) This information was prepared on August 16, 1983. <br />
