SUBJECT: 2005 ANNUAL REPORT FOR M-1990-025 (HAY CAMP PIT)
Dear Ladies and Gentlemen:
Enclosed is the Annual Report form for the Hay Camp Pit, M-1990-025, for the reporting
year ending May 22, 2005, with a map. The annual fee has been submitted separately.
We appreciate your understanding in the delay of this report. This is the third report
showing the permit area as revised in 2002, incorporating both the Four States
Aggregates (4SA) operation and the Montezuma County operations. Since May 2004,
mining has continued. Due to somewhat better winter precipitation, operations were
interrupted for a portion of the winter. The area (at the extreme north) of 13.5 acres
which we proposed to disturb in 2004-2005 was not, but 0.9 acres (in the southwest
corner) which we had not expected to disturb, was in fact affected during this reporting
period. The increase in spring and winter precipitation has helped reclamation
significantly, and we will request reclamation on 26.3 acres in 2005, which is somewhat
less than anticipated in our 2004 report, due to failure of seeding in part of Area A.
Previously released reclaimed areas remain in good condition, although weed control is
still a critical concern to the landowner and the operators.
