Walker Fxec°°ve Dhector <br />subject: Compliance Review, 2002 Annual Hydrologic Report (AHR), C-81-028 Divisio <br />y <br /> n Diretlor <br />date: April 10, 2003 <br />Rule 4.05.13(4)(c): A hydrologic report shall be submitted to the Division annually with the date <br />of submittal determined in consultation with the permtttee. The annual hydrologic report shall <br />contain at a minimum: <br />The report is in compliance with this rule. The report is required to be submitted by the Coors Energy <br />Company (CEC) by the end of February (Permit, page 117). The report was received in the Division <br />of Minerals and Geology (Division) on February 28, 2003. <br />Rule 4.05.14(4)(c)(i): Water quantity data obtained from each monitoring site during the water <br />year; <br />The report is in compliance with this rule with the approved variance that water quantity data was <br />submitted by calendar yeaz in-lieu-of water year (Permit, page 117). There are no surface water <br />monitoring sites. Well water levels were taken. <br />Rule 4.05.14(4)(c)(ii): Water quality data obtained from each monitoring site during the water year; <br />and <br />The report is in compliance with this rule with the approved variance that water quality data was <br />submitted by calendaz year in-lieu-of water year (Permit, page 117). The monitoring program is <br />described on pages 56 and 57 of the Permit. Six wells aze monitored. Required information is in the <br />report on pages 48 through 89. The report includes barium as a pazameter of testing (not required by <br />Division of Minerals and Geology, but by the Colorado Department of Public Health and <br />Environment for monitoring this parameter as consequence of disposing hard rock mine waste at the <br />site). There is no surface water monitoring at the site. <br />Rule 4.05.14(4)(c)(iii): If required by the Division, a written interpretation of the data and <br />identiftcation of mining related impacts to the hydrologic balance. <br />The report is in compliance with this rule. The Division required no written interpretation ofthe data, <br />but graphs of field static water levels, pH, and specific conductance for the past 5 years (pages 66 <br />
