To facilitate your review, the discussion is presented in the same format as your letter of April 24, 1986 to Vern Pfannenstiel. Ground Water The line on Er,hibit 7-2 of the AHR representing the axis of the Tow Creek Anticline should be interpreted as a general area in which the axis has been mapped and/or interpreted to be. In addition, ground water, under confined conditions, can flow from one side of the axis to the other side of the axis. The axis, therefore, is not necessarily the delineation of confined ground water flow direction. Because wells GW-S45Pi and GW-845 have shown a decline in water levels consistent with past wells affected by mining, it is logical to assume that the recharge area for ground water flowing in the direction of Well G41-S45P1 (Wolf Creek Coal) and GW-845 (Wolf Creek Overburden) > may have been affected by mining of the Wolf Creek coal ~ seam. Wells GW-S40WC and GW-S41'WC, as shown on Exhibit 7-2 in the AHR are incorrectly labeled. The correct well names are GW-S40-W and GW-S41-W. Both of these wells are completed in the Wadge Coal. Water level measurements are presently and historically have been taken at these wells. This data is presented in Appendices A and B of the AHR.
