His
address is P.O. Box 37, Desert Center, CA 92239. The permit area is located on 312
acres of private land approximately 4 miles northwest of Walsenburg in Section 25, T27S,
R67W. Mine disturbance affected approximately 60 acres. The pit area was reclaimed
in 1989 and the sediment control system was reclaimed in 1992 with shrub and warm
season grass interseeding in 1993.
The only reclamation activities which occurred at the site during 1994 was the removal
of some domestic garbage which was dumped in the arroyo adjacent to the county road
accessing the permit area. No grading or seeding was necessary for this activity. Rill
and gully inspections did not show evidence of any erosional features on the reclaimed
areas throughout the year.
Should you have questions or need additional information concerning this report, please
do not hesitate to contact Mr. Mike Keegan at Kaiser or let me know.
Sincerely,
Jerry H.
