(BMRI) - San Luis
DMG Permit No. M-88-112
Bi-weekly water Sampling
Dear Mr. Oehler:
Ei-weeY,ly water samples were collected on June 9-10, 1993 u~
specified in the April 1992 Abatement Plan. The samples
were placed in coolers for shipment via United Parcel
Service (UPS) to Core Laboratories in Denver. The coolers
were shipped on June 11.
Core Labs was contacted in early August for a status report
on the June 9-10 samples. At this time, it was found that
Core Labs had never received the samples. UPS has traced
the shipping path of the coolers from the pick-up at the
mine to the Alamosa depot; however, UPS has been
unsuccessful at tracing the coolers out of Alamosa or
locating the coolers at another depot.
The following procedures have been implemented to avoid
shipping problems in the future. UPS will provide priority
shipping status for water samples which includes a detailed
package tracing program. Also beginning in August, Core
Labs will issue an acknowledgement of samples received to
better track shipped samples.
If you have any questions, please call.
Sincerely,
~Qr~-~ ~~
Alana L.
