t <br />III IIIIIIIIII IIIIII <br /> <br />SOUTH DIVERSION DITCH CERTIFICATION <br />The south diversion ditch is located in an old irrigated field on a mesa above the <br />Roadside South Mine. The ditch is used to divert runoff from undisturbed azeas around <br />the Roadside South Mine. The ditch has been extended from the Ute Water line along <br />the rock fence in westerly dtrection to the surface boundazy. Visual observations and <br />field measurements indicate that the new section of ditch has been constructed with <br />sufficient cross sectional azea to be in accordance with design criteria. <br />The existing ditch has been inspected. Culverts have been installed under the light use <br />road to the substation and the road across the field. The undersigned was not present <br />during construction of the existing section of ditch and the culvert installation and <br />therefore can not address construction methods and procedures used on this portion of the <br />diversion ditch. The ditch appears to have sufficient cross sectional azea to convey the <br />design storm event. The culverts appeaz to function as designed. <br />I William P. Balaz Jr., P.
