Dpt. of Neturd Rltawooi
An additional copy of the Austin permit application is enclosed.
I would offer the following response to your review
EXHIBIT B - Mining Plan
1. Topsoil which is stockpiled will be placed along the far
north side of the existing pit (as shown on the attached map).
This will essentially be out of the way from current pit
activities.
2. No water will be used at the site
3. As previously indicated in the last sentence of Exhibit
8, a screen might possibly be used at the site if certain sized
material is especially needed. Screening will not be a normal
part of the operation. There will not be any crushing or washing
taking place.
4. If possible, topsoil will not be stockpiled beyond one
growing season, but rather used as we go to reclaim the pit.
5. It is difficult to assess exactly how much topsoil will
be available for reclamation since part of the area has already
been mined. I would estimate in the neighborhood of 1500 cubic
yards.
6. There is no bedrock below the gravel stratum -simply
another soil layer.
Holyoke, Colorado 80734
