III IIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
899
Doc Date:12/11/2001
• 3.0 PROJECT PLAN
The Trapper Mine project consists of diverse and interrelated activities designed to efficiently mine coal
and promote rectamation activities.
Section 3.0 discusses the major components of the Trapper Mine project. Emphasis is placed on the
function of each component and its interrelationship with other activities. Also presented is a general
description of the activity and how it complies with applicable e~dsting regulations.
Trapper Mine is a surface mining operetion and does not control or generate any underground work-
ings. Therefore subsidence will not be an issue with Trapper's operations. However, located west of
Trappers permit perimeter are underground workings maintained by Empire Energy Corporation.
During permit lama 1993-1997 and 1998-2002 Empire operations will likely continue to subside alas
already mined end rectaimed by Trapper Mine. Effects of their operations have been addressed within
the curtest Empire Energy mining permit.
Section 3.1.8 of this application discusses surface mining near underground workings. Trapper Mine's
• mining operations in the Call and Browning Pit areas (Map M10 series) were within 500 horizontal feet
of the abandoned underground workings. Section 3.1.8 provides evidence that no impact will occur on
these underground workings due to Trappers surface mining activities.

= _..._ gl1AY_ 1_x.1998 _...
.. ...
