Ott: <br />On January 25, 1978 the *iined Land keclamation Board heard and approved <br />tiie Standard :fetals application for mining and reclamation. The bond <br />was subsequently set at $347,543. Tt~e matter of bond coverage of the <br />mill is pending witil such time that the Attorney General's Office <br />formulates an agreement regarding said matter. I will keep you informed <br />as this matter progresses. Tha permit will not be issued until the <br />agreement is finalized between Standard Hetale and the Mined Land. <br />Reclamation Board, its staff and attorneys. There were also some conditions <br />attached to the Board'• approval of the permit application as fo]lows: <br />Standard Metals must inform the Board of groundwater conditions sad seek <br />say amendments necessary so the tailings pond will be structured so as to <br />minimize adverse effects on groundwater quality. ` <br />C a b <br />If Standard Metals is found to ba in iriolation of any States or Federal <br />water quality control law or regulation promulgated thereunder, :~tandard <br />Metals shall comply with all requiremaata of any final order. If compliance <br />with any f~lnl order would result is a change to the mining or reclamation <br />plan approved as s part of thin permit. Standard Metals shall eut~mit the <br />appropriate changes to this pazmit to the Mined Land Reclamation Board. <br />At the time the Board considers the changes, it cea approve or deny the <br />amendments or consider revocation of the permit if the changes would change <br />eha mining and reclamation plena so as to fall within the reasons for <br />denial of permits eatablishsd by C.S.S. 1973. 34-92-115. <br />
