.' ~ MINED LAN~LIFE STATEMENT/EVALUATION ~sed) III III III IIIIIIIIII
sss
for limited impact and select regular mine applications
The following information pertaining to wildlife is provided for use by Mined Land
Reclamation Board in their consideration of a mining permit for:
Texas Mining 6 Exploration Company/Gloria Z Mine/Bold b associated minerals/ Park Co. T 95.,
Name/Tune and Location of Mine (Legal) R. 77W., NEtiNE~, Sec. 32
Wildlife Species list:
Aquatic: brook trout, brawn trout, rainbow trout
Terrestrial: mule deer, elk and small birds and mammals
RECEIVE®
~l~N 1 L 1~~d
Endangered/critical species/impacted:
NONE KNOWN
Critical habitats/vegetative communities impacted:
Fescue grasslands interspersed with aspen and fir trees
Assessment of impact:
~ICelo Bept a~i W~aM o~IReaaurces N
Long term impacts should not be great if tailings leaching is prevented and precautions
against breach of the sediment pond are taken.
Mine Reclamation recotmnendations (include key species/habitats for which restoration
is designed).
Remove and stockpile all topsoil from the operation site. Topsoil should be evenly
distributed over the area as soon as the operation is complete. Reseed with native grass, forb
and tree species. If overburden is replaced as per the operation plan the general contour
should not seriously deviate from the pre-mining condition. Final grading should be done to
match the affected area as close as possible to the surrounding area and to prevent rapid
runoff of water.
The tailing pond should be dug at~a location distant from the Middle Fork of the South Platte
River and either lined with plastic or bentonite to prevent leaching of sediment material into
the river. After compleUion of the project the sediment should be scraped from the pond and
hauled to a location wheie it will not be washed into the river either directly or leaching.
the pond site should be reclaimed like the rest of the site. Precautions must be taken to
keep all milling water from the river even in the event of a 100 year rain fall situation.
rezred By: JIM JONES D;crr;rr w'l~tlife Manager Date: T,,,,~__p~~ tc~
___-..tt ed By: Bob Davies.
