The Division of Minerals and Geology has received Rim Rock's request for and
extension to the Decision date for the J-Birds Mine application on December 6th, 2005.
The request is due to some on the ground issues that the BLM has not yet been able to
address and now is covered by snow. Rim Rock has requested the extension to March 155,
2006. The extension is granted and if weather allows for the issues to be addressed prior
to that date, Rim Rock may contact DMG staff to expedite a final decision. Staff will
contact Rim Rock in late February to access the situation and determine if additional time
will be needed or to proceed with a final decision.
