The location of these lands is shown on "Exhibit <br />A, Part 2: Location Map" included in this permit application. <br />The affected lands from quarrying activities all occur within the boundaries of the <br />London Lode Claim, Mineral Survey No. 441 I, and the White Marble No. 2 Placer Claim, <br />Mineral Survey No. 46218. <br />The two claims affected lie within the protracted bounds of Sections 1 and 12 of <br />Township 12 South, Range 88 West, of the 6`" Principal Meridian, within Gunnison County, <br />Colorado. More particularly, the descriptions of said claims are found in the Mineral Surveys <br />numbered above. Modern surveys were performed in 1965 by the Vermont Marble Company <br />(OMYA, Inc.), and again in 1988 by Colorado Yule Marble Company (CYMC). <br />Affected Area Description <br />Beginning at a point a distance of approximately 10 feet on a bearing of South 74 degrees <br />West of the southwest corner of the Yule Lode Claim No. 4530, such point also being ] 0 feet <br />,- west of the western edge of existing private access road to the quarry: Thence a distance of 299 <br />approximately 50 feet on a bearing of North 74 degrees East to the east edge of the existing <br />ports! access road: Thence a distance of approximately 90 feet on an approximate bearing of <br />South 30 degrees East along the east edge of the existing portal access road: Thence a distance <br />of approximately 100 feet on an approximate bearing of South 41 degees East along the east <br />edge of the existing portal access road: Thence a distance of 75 feet on a baazing of South 49 <br />degrees East: Thence a distance of 210 feet on an approximate bearing of North 2 degrees West, <br />such line being slightly West of the sediment control structure at the lower end of the marble <br />waste piles: Thence a distance of 110 feet on a baazing of North 74 degrees East, such line being <br />North and West of the sediment control structure at the lower end of the marble waste piles: <br />Thence a distance of 125 feet on a baazing of South 45 degrees East: Thence a distance of 330 <br />feet on a bearing of South 20 degrees East: Thence a distance of 470 feet on a bearing of South <br />7 degrees East: Thence a distance of 220 feet on a bearing of South 68 degrees West; Thence a <br />distance of approximately 360 feet on an approximate baazing of North 26 degrees West to the <br />northwest corner of the south quarry entry (also known as Quarry Entry #3): Thence a distance <br />' of approximately 40 feet on an approximate bearing of North 65 degrees East to the northeast <br />corner of quarry Entry #3: Thence a distance of approximately 180 feet on an approximate <br />bearing of North 26 degrees West to the southeast corner of the middle quarry entry (also known <br />as Quarry Entry No. 2): Thence generally north and slightly west along the western edge of the <br />middle quarry entry and north entry (also known as Quarry Entry No. 1) to the northeast comer <br />of Quarry Entry No.l : Thence a distance of approximately 170 feet on a baazing of <br />approximately North 24 degrees West to the place of beginning.
