ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: (narrative, drawines, sketch mao)
This isolate consists of two stone cairns located in the bottom of aneast-flowing tributary of Fish Creek near
the confluence of two intermittent drainages. There aze high east/west ridges to the north and south. The
vegetation is primarily dense riparian grasses in the drainage and spazse sagebrush and grasses on the
surrounding slopes. A cow path runs between the two cairns along the base of the slope. The cairns aze both
fairly lazge. The one closer to the stream measures 163 cm NW/SE x 221 cm NE/SW and is about 30 cm
in height. It is constructed of 50+ lazge blocky sandstone and vesiculaz basalt cobbles. The second cairn
is 230 cm to the northwest, closer to the slope. It measures 220 cm NW/SE x ] 60 cm NE/SW and is about
20 cm in height. This cairn has a more elongated shape and is constructed of fewer cobbles that are the same
material and size. The rocks of both cairns have been stacked and mounded. A few rocks from the upslope
cairn have collapsed slightly downslope. The basal rocks are partially embedded and no lichen is visible
on any of the rocks. Seismic line 9902 is located five meters south of the southern cairn. These appear to
be sheepherders cairns and may not exceed 50 years.
V.
