This implies
that during the stripping stages of operation, water
discharged to the Dolores will not first go to a
settling basin to remove sediment. Clarification is
required from the applicant on how and where this
discharge water will be treated.
2) The applicant's statement on wetland impacts
on page 27-D of the amendent addresses only
wetlands within the pit and buffer zone boundaries
and wetlands within 500ft of the boundary. There
are wetlands beyond this point on private property
to the south that are estimated to be approximately
1000ft from the boundary which could be dried up
since the the applicant's own calculations on water
table drawdown at that distance is almost two feet
No evaluation of river recharging of these wetlands
to my knowledge has been made.
