Simpson, Assistant State Engineer
SUBJECT: Federal Resources Corporation - Camp Bird Colorado Inc., Application for
Mining and Recleunation Permit, X82-90
As requested, we have reviewed the above referenced application. Our comments all
concern the mine tailings dam. If you have a question concerning the stability of
the dam, we suggest you reequire Camp Bird Colorado, Inc. to hire a private consult-
ant to make a stability investigation. The report that would be furnished as a
result of the investigation should be supplied to your office. Also, we recommend
that you limit each new lift to the dam to 10 feet and require each new lift to be
constructed using the downstream construction method.
Hal D.
