The applicant has applied for a well permit for non-
consumptive use of ground water for gravel washing. The Ground Water
Section of our office may, however, deny this application because the
applicant failed to submit a plan for augmentation to replace the 3.1 acre-
feet of water that will be consumed by this "non-consumptive" operation.
The applicant also intends to leave a 43-acre lake after reclamation
(Exhibit G). The evaporation losses from this lake which have been ignored
by the applicant will obviously reduce the water available to water rights
in the over-appropriated Sand Creek and South Platte Basins.
The applicant should provide evidence of a legal, dependable water supply
and replacement of evaporation losses prior to approval of the permit by
the Board, n
(/~ .
A.
