P.E. <br />Siaie Engineer <br />RE: Substitute Water Supply Plan, Wagner/Kauffman Pit #3, DMG #M-99-069 <br />Sections 17, 20 and 21, T5N, R68W, 6th P.M. <br />Water Division 1, Water District 4, Lorimer County <br />Dear Mrs. Kauffman: <br />This letter is in respdnse to your application for a substitute water supply plan for the <br />Wagner/Kauffman Pit #3 in accordance with Section §37-80-120, C.R.S. The required fees of <br />$1,343 for the substitute water supply plan and $60 for the gravel pit well permit have been <br />submitted. <br />The anticipated net depletion for this plan is 10.5 acre-feet per year for up to 2.0 acres of <br />lake surface exposed after December 31, 1980. According to the information submitted no water <br />surface was exposed within the reclamation permit boundary prior to January 1, 1981. <br />You have provided a monthly breakdown of the annual depletions totaling 4.6 acre-feet of <br />evaporative loss and 5.9 acre-feet of water lost with the mined product. No phreatophyte credit has <br />been applied to this plan. <br />The proposed source of replacement for this pit is 10.91 acre-feet of water from a lease <br />from the City of Loveland, including a 4 percent transit loss from Green Ridge Glade Reservoir to <br />the Wagner/Kauffman Pit #3. The lease expires December 31, 2001. The monthly depletions and <br />replacement requirements are found on the attached table. <br />As required by Senate Bill 89-120 in Section 8, this substitute water supply plan has been <br />provided to an outside consultant for review. The consultant has recommended approval of the <br />plan by way of this letter. Based upon statutory requirements and the recommendations of the <br />consultant, I hereby approve the proposed substitute water supply plan in accordance with §37-80- <br />120, C.R.S. subject to the following conditions: <br />1. A well permit must be issued for the gravel pit in accordance with §37-90-137(2) <br />and ?11), C.R.S.
