Detailed descriptions are er <br />attached. All of these soils have very little Eood topsoil as can be he <br />noted by the sparse vegetation adjacent to the nits. This is also due or <br />to the very low annual precitation in the area. This pit is surrounded <br />by rangeland. The native vegetation adjacent to the pit consists of n, <br />rabbitbrush, kochia, russian thistle, squirrel tail, sunflower, daisy, +st <br />blue grama, sleepygrass, pigweed, and prickly pear cactus. In the very <br />bottom of the pit where moisture content is hieft, willows are present. ,Iv <br />As far as a reclamation plan, w}ten this pit is no l~,nger used, I would ~~• <br />recommend that side slopes of 3:1 or flatter be }+rovided. I fee] the el: <br />chances of reseeding and getting a stand are about zero. The annual +se <br />precitation in this area is about 8 inches and .is not enough to guarentee nd, <br /> <br />a stand. •d ; <br />,s; <br />Harrison Pit - Soils are Dunul cobbly sandy loon and 'forte gravelly dy <br />sandy loam. Descriptions are attached. This pit is surrounded by ej <br />cultivated land. Vegetation consists of sunflowers, kochia, pigweed, nt~ <br />millnaeed, sweet clover and alsike clover. Reclamation: Same as Del tdorte. <br />gel <br />mile Plaza Pit - Soils are Garita cobbly loam and Typic Torrifluvents. +al <br />Descri tions are attached. This it is located near the Rio Grande in re <br />P p ed <br />a riverbottom situation. Vegetation consists of Indian ricegrass, nt <br />prickly pear cactus, kochia, rabbitbrush, blue ~r+ttoa, Sand dropseed, <br />sage, squirrel tail, and winter fat. :,.eclamation: Slope sides to 3:1 <br />or flatter. These soils have a fluctuating watertable aztd are moderately °r <br />alka]ine. Revegetation should include Blue grama and Intermediate ~s' <br />-1 <br />wheatgrass on the drier sites and Western wheatgrass and smooth brome sh <br />on the wetter sites. <br />Satederson Pit - Soils: Typic Torrifluvents. Description rttached. <br />This pit is located in a riierbottoct situation. Vegetation present <br />includes: bluegrass, .cottonwoods, kochia, willows, sedges, rushes, <br />russian thistle.
