(hereinafter "Camas"). When this subdivision was created, four homes and a fish farm were already in
existence. The Subdivision added four homes and another is currently under construction with occupancy slated for
February 2000. Upon learning of Camas intentions to mine the property around us, effectively making our land a
peninsula, we residents banded together and formed Families for Responsible Aggregate Mining (FRAM).
Pursuant to Section 1.4.6(2)(a) of the Mineral Ru/es and Regulations of iht Co%indo Mined Land Reclamation Board
for Construction Materio/sand as Chairperson of FRAM, I hereby request admission as a party to the subject matter
before the Board. This request for party status is supported by the following facts:
1. Camas has publicly stated their intention to mine within 25 feet of our homes without benefit of structurnl integrity
data regarding the existing permanent structures including our homes, outbuildings and fences that are within 200
feet of the proposed mining area.
2. Camas' mining and reclamation plans fail to consider the drain tiles in Cell (Lake) 2 and the drainage ditch in the
western property. Destruction of these drain tiles and ditch, as well as other aspects of the plans, will severely
affect the hydrologic balance of this riparian area.
3. Camas' reclamation plan locks specificity in many critical areas including:
a. topsoil stockpiling, segregation and preservation
b. selection, size,locotion and quantity of proper vegetative cover
c. portrayal of the final land use
d. surface and groundwater pollution control measures
e. wildlife identification and habitat conservation
f. acquisition of additional required documents including air quality emissions permits, state Historic Preservation
Office clearance, 404 permit, construction permit, floodplain development plan permit, effluent discharge
permit, groundwater monitoring and wildlife studies.
Your consideration to this request is greatly appreciated. Please contact me at (970) 353-0545 if you have any questions
ar require additional information.
Regards,
~~~-~
Kim Davis, FRAM Chairperson
