Reclamation Plan - Goldman Pit
The following reclamation work will be performed on the Goldman Gravel
Pit upon completion of the mining activity.
A. Shaping
The existing highwall will be mined back to a ravine immediately to the
west and subsequently eliminated. Trenches used to remove the gravel
will be sloped to at least 3:1 slope, with man 4:1 or 5:1. At the
southeastern corner of the existing pit a short eight (8) or nine (g)
foot wall will exist from the floor of the pit. This will remain giving
a terraced effect which would not be out of character with the area.
B. Topsoil
Topsoil will be stockpiled during the gravel extraction activity. Upon
completion of the mining, the soil will be redistributed of the slopes for
re-seeding.
C. Water Retention
Water bars will be constructed on the site if deemed necessary. It seems
the most likely place these will be needed would be at the head of the
of the long slopes to the ravine. Tt is uncertain if they in fact will
be needed, due to the fact that the finished slope might not require
them.
D. Seeding
The pit floor and slopes after distribution of topsoil will be roughed
up if necessary prior to the seeding. Seeding will be accomplished by
broadcast seeding in the amounts and types as follows:
Crested Wheatgrass Nordan 141bs/acre = 1121bs
Indian Rice Grass 201bs/acre = 1601bs
Yellow Sweet Clover 141bs/acre = 1121bs
