A proposed pit is located on 158.18 aerea located <br />on or near 8ectioas 12 & 13, Tier 35 North, Range 17 West, Neov Mexico <br />(10~( Principal Meridian. <br />Dear Ms. Lemay: <br />This comment letter is submitted by Frederick W. (Rick) and Susan <br />Campbell Bell of 6150 C.R. 21, Cortez, CO 81321. Our home is located <br />approximately .3 miles east of the Stone Gravel Pit. We object to the Application <br />of Daren Stone for the reasons set forth below. <br />-. <br />We request, pursuant to section 2.6.1(1)(b) of the Construction Tndustry <br />Rules and Regulations of the Mined Land Reclamation Board (the °Rules"), that <br />we be notified of the date of the informal conference to be held concerning this <br />Application so we can participate in the informal conference. We also request, <br />pursuant to Rule 1.4.6(2), that we be gamed party status and that this comment <br />letter be considered a °statement of issues" for purposes of the informal <br />conference. <br />Daren Stone, the sole proprietor of an enterprise called Stone Gravel Pit, has <br />applied to the Colorado Department of Minerals and Geology (DMG) for a <br />Construction Materials Regular Operation (112) Reclamation Permit. His primary <br />commodity is sand and gravel. He is proposing to operate a surface mine and <br />stone crushing operation on 158.18 acres located or near Sections 12 8~ 13, Tier <br />35 North, Range 17 West, New Mexico (10th) Principal Meridian (just west of the <br />intersection of C.R. 21 and C.R. F). <br />
