The mine site is located approximately 3.8 miles west of <br />station. <br />2.04.8 page 1 <br />precipitation data <br />rta are also <br />e recording <br />Although the rugged topography in La Plata County causes large variationslin climate within <br />short distances, the climatic data recorded for Fort Lewis should be very close to that at the proposed <br />mine site. Elevation at the proposed mine site is approximately 7,500 feet above sea level. The <br />weather station at Fort Lewis is situated at an elevation of 7,610 feet above sea level. <br />The normal precipitation and temperature nonnals, taken from "Climatography of the United <br />States No. 81-4, Decennial Census of U.S. climate," for Fort Lewis are given in Appendix 5. The 10- <br />year, 24 hour precipitation event for the azea is 2.2 inches. The 25-year, 24 hour event is 2.6 inches. <br />The 100-year, 24 hour event is 3.2 inches.
