SIMPSON, CHIEF, WATER MANAGEMENT BRANCH
SUBJECT: THE THREE BELLS RANCH ASSOCIATES - LARIMER COUNTY,
APPLICATION FOR MINING AND RECLAMATION PERMIT
As requested by your office, we have reviewed the application for a gravel
pit near Timnath, The applicant has provided insufficient information con-
cerning his use of water in the proposed mining operation. If water will
be required for dust control, sanitation, or other purposes, we recommend
that the Board be provided with additional information concerning the source
and amounts of water to be used, The applicant should also consider the
effects of evaporation losses from the proposed reclamation pond on water
rights in the over-appropriated Cache La Poudre River and South Platte River
Basin.
The applicant should provide evidence of a legal, dependable water supply
and replacement of evaporation losses prior to approval of the permit by
the Board.
1,
Hal D.
