Dear Mr. McArdle:
B-Mining Company is requesting a mining permit from The Mined Land Reclamation
Division, to mine limestone on the old patented claims on Deep Creek, near
Telluride. Enclosed please find information on Limited Impact (110) Permit Form
and Application for Permit.
B-Mining Company has a contract to supply Colorado Ute Electric Association lime-
stone for their coal fired circulating S111nidized bed power plant near Nucla. We
have applied and gotten approval from the San Miguel County Planning Commission to
mine limestone and the San Miguel County Road and Bridge Department for a Road Use
Permit. The mine is at Lime, Co., eight miles west of Telluride on State Highway
145.

We spoke with Jack Warren of the Norwood office of The Soil Conservation Service
who, after inspecting the site, submitted the attached documents concerning the
protection of surface water, protection of ground water, erosion and tai-lings
control, and reclamation. We plan to follow his suggestions which include the
reconstruction of the natural drainage pattern and at the end of the mining
operation, revegitation.
In order to avoid ar>,q possible environmental damage, B-Mining Compar>,y will take
the following precautions: 'There will absolutely be no dumping of any material
(rock, limestone, etc.) over the hillside. If we have any waste or low grade
limestone, we will sell it or stack it in the end of the pit area and use it to
close off the portals when we reclamate the mine.
B-Mining Company also feels its proposed mining operations will enhance the
property by reworking the existing private road following The Soil Conservation
Service guidelines and The Federal Mine Safety and Health Administration~guide-
lines, protecting public health and safety by closing and gating the~isting
