S. Soil Fertilizer Plant-Scrubber
Waste Water Discharge

~,,_~.r ?~ 19 C1
;iLCL,
At the present time waste water from the scrubber is discharged through a pipe-
. line into three settling pond pits which are earthen excavations. These earthen
excavations are situated northwest of our plant within the Crystal Mill Site.
The waste water then evaporates and also percolates into the underlying soil.
Mr. William Earley, of the Colorado Department of Health, inspected this facility
on 16 May, 1980, and has advised us to construct permanent concrete lined
settling tanks. I assure you that these settling tanks will be in compliance
with the appropriate Colorado and Fremont County laws and regulations governing
such facilities.
I have instructed all members of management of U. S. Soil Conditioning that they
will have accomplished the construction of the settling tanks no later than the
end of June.
Sincerely,
J. li. Lionelle
es' nt ~~
.
