III I II I II I II IIII'll Doc Date:12/11/2001
sss
~~ ~ SECTION 6.0 Livestock Pond Construction Through 1990 and
• Proposed Approximate Locations for 1991.
This section updates CMLRD on the final locations of all constructed livestock ponds at
Trapper Mine through 1990 and projects the approximate locations for proposed pond
construction in 1991 (see attached maps). The average pond density for Trapper
reclaim areas will not exceed one pond per ten acres. This is the density as specified by
the approved permit. Table 6-1 describes the as-built pond density in association with
specific drainage areas.
During 1990 a temporary diversion ditch in the north end of Derringer pit spoils, was
removed during the recontouring and retopsoiling process. Nine (9) stockponds that
previously drained into Coyote Drainage, because of the diversion, now drain tnto West
No-Name drainage. This change resulted in an increase in drainage associated with
stockponds in Coyote drainage. Likewise, the number of drainage acres per established
pond decreased in West No-Name drainage. Additionally, West Buzzard and East
Buzzard are reported separately.
Although the enclosed maps (6-1 and Cr2) also show 43 additional pond sites that maybe
constructed by Trapper to accommodate the optimum density for livestock/wildlife use
on the reclaimed area, only 5-10 onds are proposed for construction in 1991 and should
be completed by October 31st. Table 6-2 describes the projected approximate drainage
area per pond following construction in 1991.
• As the case with all as-built livestock/wildlife ponds, future pond construction will meet
or exceed state and federal standards and/or specifications. All constructed ponds have
been inspected by SCS personnel and their review is~ forwarded yearly to the Division via
Trapper s annual report.
