Fiddler's Green Circle <br />#535-N <br />Englewood, Colorado 80111 <br />RE: Sand Creek Mine, File No. M-92-038 - Adequacy Letter <br />Dear Mr. Kincaid: <br />The application for a 112 Mining and Reclamation Permit, File No. M-92-038 was <br />deemed complete on May 12, 1992. Your application has been scheduled for a <br />decision by the Division on August 12, ~~92. <br />I have reviewed the application to determine whether it is adequate to meet <br />the requirements of the Act and Regulations. The attached list details items <br />that need clarification before the application will satisfy the applicable <br />requirements. Please provide a response to each item prior to August 5, 1992. <br />The following items must be addressed by the applicant in order to satisfy the <br />applicable requirements of C.R.S. 34-32-101 et sec. and the Mineral Rules and <br />Regulations of the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board. <br />Adequacy Items <br />Exhibit D - You state during mining activity that the side slopes of the <br />excavation will be no steeper than 2:I. Since the pit walls are composed <br />of sand, how can they be stable at a 2:1 slope? How deep will you be <br />mining and what is the thickness of the unit to be mined? How deep is <br />the water table in the permit area' <br />Have you obtained a Stormwater Discharge Permit form the Colorado <br />Department of Health? <br />How will the site be protected from erosion and sedimentation during <br />storm water events? <br />2. Exhibit E - Why is no revegetation planned at the site even though the <br />Soil Conservation Service recommends revegetation, a seed mix, seed rate, <br />etc.? <br />
