~ III IIIIIIIIIIIII III ~
s~
EXHIBIT E - Reclamation Plan
Taminco, Inc.
Monogram Mines (Union Carbide Lease)
July 3, 197$
The life of operation is extimated to be 10 to 15 years.
The area has been disturbed extensively by sporadic mining
activities conducted at various times throughout the past
60 to 70 years.
The general area is used for dry rangeland and wildlife
habitat, therefore, reclamation will be directed toward
enhancing these values. Additional surface disturbance will
be minor as utilization of existing roads, mine workings and
surface facilities is planned where feasible.
The following reclamation efforts are planned for the
various areas as mining activities are completed:
1) Additional roads required for future mining will be
closed and revegetated with native vegetation.
Existing roads will be left in usable conditon
with ditches and/or water bars to minimize erosion
from surface runoff.
2) New drill holes will be plugged at the surface
and cuttings graded and revegetated.
3) Waste dumps and surface work areas resulting from
mining operations conducted under this permit will
be graded and native vegetation planted where
feasible from the standpoint of topography. Avail-
able topsoil will be stockpiled and used to enhance
growth of natural vegetation.
4) Additional surface structures, equipment and debris
will be removed and the areas reclaimed at the end
of mining stages. Mine entries will be sealed or
closed in conformance with then applicable mine
safety and health regulations.
The predominance of impact on this area from past mining
,/activities in relation to the limited extent of planned
j future disturbance suggests that substitution of previously
/ disturbed areas for areas where mining is in progress could
well result in a more productive reclamation program of an
ongoing nature. The flexibility to incorporate such a
program in this permit is requested.
E-1
