SHELTON, Director
Richard D. Lamm
Governor
April 10, 1985
Mr. Donald A. Rapp
8730 West Mountain View Lane
Littleton, Colorado 80125
Re: C and C Sand Company, "Red Canyon Quarry", File No. M-85-043
ofl,a+~. ;
Dear M~A~a~r:
I have completed my adequacy review of the 110 permit application for the Red
Canyon Quarry and have several questions and comments that I have organized on
an exhibit-by-exhibit basis below. As usual, any exhibits or parts thereof
not mentioned are considered adequate for Board approval now. Please respond
to this letter at your earliest convenience, but certainly by no later than
April 22, 1985. In this way, I will have time to review your responses and
comment, if necessary, before the scheduled April 24-25, 1985 meeting of the
Board.
As you are aware, before the Board can consider the application, our Division
must receive proof of the two sequential weeks of publication in a local
S _, newspaper (publisher's affidavit or a copy thereof) and proof of the
n( ~~ notification to Mr. Stack, the owner of the permit area and all immediately
adjacent lands (certified mail white or green receipt). Please submit these
items to us as soon as they are available.
Application Item 15
This future land use is merely a condensed version of your reclamation plan.
// A more definitive beneficial use should be given. Perhaps "wildlife habitat"
X would be at lease partially descriptive for this reclaimed area. Please
clarify this matter.
Exhibit A
1. I note tha the metes and bounds description given is for 38 acres, not 9.9
acres. Presumably, the correct legal description for the precise permit area
lies within this 38 acre parcel. The legal description of the 9.9 acre permit
area should be given either to the nearest quarter quarter Sections or in
metes and bounds terms.
Exhibits B & C
~1. Presumably, the mineral to be mined is "dolomite", rather than "domolite"
as in your statement. Please clarify this matter.
423 Centennial Building, 1313 Sherman Street Denver, Colorado 80203 Tel. (303) 866-3567
