Sand and Gravel -Sheehan Pit; File # M-2007-058. <br />Mr. Marshall: <br />Please receive this letter as a formal request for the extension of the decision date of <br />the J. & D. Sand and Gravel -Sheehan Pit -Construction Materials Linuted Impact <br />(110) Reclamation Permit Application (Application FIle # M-2007-058). Duc to the <br />October 16~ site inspection, the delay in the Public Notice and the time required fox a <br />response and for the DRM&S to review the response to your PAR letter (received on <br />October 23~. 2007), the applicant wishes to extend the review period.~The requested <br />extension time period will be from the current decision date of October 28~ (Monday <br />October, 29th), 2007 to November I Sei 2007 ar anytime behveen if and when a <br />sufficient response and review by the DRM&S Staff has been completed. <br />As stated in the original transmittal letter (copy attached) to Mx. Russ Means of your <br />office: the Operations at the site would be <30 days per year. Generally site activities <br />will be contained to the previously disturbed 1.34 acre area initially plus some rock <br />scaling from above previous mined areas. Some scaling along the eastside of the site <br />above the County Road 1 R.O.W. will be done in conjunction with the Moffat County <br />Road and Bridge Department for public safety purposes. Mine expansion would be slow <br />due to limited local demand and may approach 3 acres of total disturbance in 20 years. <br />Weathered sandstone rock would generally be removed to the bedrock. Explosives aze <br />not proposed to be used at the site. The DRM&S would be contacted concerning any <br />future proposed use of explosives.
