Bellaire St.
Denver, Colorado 80222
Re: Fish Creek Drilling Project CX-169-U8
Dear Mr. Nickelson:

The Division has reviewed your Wotice of Intent submitted June 21, 1983.
The Division has determined that the project qualifies as coal
exploration with substantial disturbance to the land surface. Although
your Notice was deemed complete, there was one outstanding issue that
needs to be resolved.
Ns we discussed in our June 28, 1983 telephone conversation the Division
needs additional information on the location of the Sandhill crane sited
near your project area. We will need to determine how close the crane
site is in relation to your drilling and seismic studies. It is my
understandiny that you will be meeting with Susan Mowry, of our staff, on
July 18, 1983 at 1:0U to discuss this issue.

In the meantime you may prepare a bond which the Division has determined
as $17,735.00. When the wildlife issue has been resolved and bond has
been posted operation may begin.
Since ely,~,~- _ _---
-',:
~ltobert G.
