Box E Paonia, Colorado 81428 RE: September 8, 1982, hteeting Dear Ms. Gordon: The purpose of this Setter is to formalize certain decisions reached during our September 8, 1982, meeting. To begin with the Alluvial Valley Floor, Phase I Studies, Orchard Va11ey.Mine, prczpared by Geo-Hydro was discussed. In essence the Division determined that Stevens Gulch is not an AVF and will be excluded from Further consideration as Lying within an AVF. Along the North Fork of the Gunnison River, the area south of the Fire Mountain Canal and north of the river, including that identified as Qpc, on Plates 1 and 2, will be designated as an AVF. Jerry Zimpfer has written the Division's determination, and is attached. The deadline for the Phase II AVF report will be extended from September 23, 2982, to October 10, 1982, so that results of the ground water drilling from the load-out area can be incorporated and considered in the identification of essential hydrologic balance functions. As requested in CWI's August 26,1982, letter, the deadline for stipulations no. 16 and no. 19 was extended from October 15, 1982, to December 31, 1982, and for stipulation no. 23 from April 15, 1983, to October 15, 1983. No further deadline extensions will be granted for these stipulations. The species diversity standard, required by stipulation no. IS and due September I, 1982, was discussed. Questions on the standard proposed and species composi- tion remain and was on September 9, 1982, further discussed with Rick Na rner, the consultant. The additional information should be submitted in the near future.
