The modification addressed changes in the
proposed mining operation by removing the highwall miner from the mining plan due to the poor
performance in this steep geologic setting. This modification reduces the surface recoverable
coal reserves in Federal Coal leases C-0114093 and C-081258 and therefore the LMU.
The Bureau of Land Management's, Little Snake Field-Office~has completed a review of this
submittal and has approved the proposed R2P2 and LMU modification. The submittal, together
with a copy of this letter, will be inserted into the existing Seneca R2P2 and LMU as
documentation of the approved modification.
If you have any questions, please contact Foster Beckett at (970) 826-5077.
Sincerely,

.J~v John E.
