This is formal documentation of a conversation that the Colorado Division of Reclamation,
Mining and Safety (DBMS) had with Basil Beaz of Bowie Resources LLC (BBL) concerning the
anticipated reclamation activities at the unit train Loadout at the Bowie No. 1 Mine.
The Division understands that BRL is planning to remove most of the structures and demolish
the three concrete silos at the unit train Loadout. Because the unit train Loadout is adjacent to
Highway 133, the Division is requesting that BRL submit a minor revision to incorporate all of
the necessary permits and approvals into the Bowie No. 1 permit application for the proposed
reclamation operations. Please include documentation from the Colorado Department of
Transportation that states whether or not that agency requires any permits or approvals.
This minor revision should be submitted to the Division before reclamation work begins. If you
have any questions, please call me.
