This is in reference to land my husband and I purchased in Los Animas
County. The legal description is: Rancho Escondido, Unit #4, Lot 39, Section
#5, Township 33 S, Range 67 W. With a very small portion in Section # 8, Los
Animas Country, State of Colorado. Lot 39 = 39.77 acres and covers portions of
all quarters of the SE 1 /4 of Section #5 and a small portion of Section #8.
There are two springs in the south east portion of this land that don't seem to be
numbered or claimed for their water rights. We would like to do this and create
a habitat for wild life in the area. We would be interested in assistance from
your office and the Federal Government. We understand the Federal Habitat
Permit #404 might be the way to proceed. If you have other avenues we are not
aware of please share your information with us.
Time is of the essence because the mine under the name, Basin Resources Inc.
(14300 Highway 12, Weston, Colorado, 81091), is in the process of longwall
mining in the area and I am concerned about the possibility that their operation
may damage the water source and the springs.
Your timely attention to this situation would be greatly appreciated.
SirtEerely _-_~
Dana Prijatel
