This letter informs you of the Department's position on the disposal of
coal mining wastes at the North Fork Landfill, in Delta County, Colorado. The
acceptance of those wastes would ba a significant change in operation, and the
Department will require an amendment to the North Fork certificate of
designation.
The amendment request should consist of a letter to you from Colorado
i~estmoreland, including the following information:
1. The types of waste ~aaterials proposed for acceptance; how tney will
be handled.
2. The location of the area where the wastes will be disposed.
3. The amounts of vrastes to b° accepted; estimated final contours after
waste disposal is complete.
4. Estimated lift, of this particular disposal operation.
5. estimated moisture content of the wastes.
The Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Division will not require a permit for
the operation, unless the wastes result from the formal mechanical processing
of coal material, to concentrate the coal for shipment.
