Dear Mr. Steen:
Action taken by the.Mined Land Reclamation Board on October 23, 1985, of which
you were in attendance, was to assess a civil penalty of $2,800.00. This
amount was based on 14 days of violation, from the date of the inspection
(September 13th) to the date of the Board issued 'Notice of Violation and
Cease and Desist Order' (September 26th), and at $200.00 per day of
violation. The Board further determined that none of this penalty amount of
$2,800.00 should be waived.
As specified by the Board, this amount must be paid within thirty (30) days;
i.e. by November 22, 1985. Please make the check payable to the State of
Colorado.
