Grand wesa currently has a permit application on file
with the Division, and your concerns will be addressed in the
permitting process.
I have already talked with Larry Reschke of Grand Mesa regarding
these problems, and he has agreed to take measures to muffle noise
from the existing fan and any additional tans that will be necessi-
tated by future mine development.
Regarding your remaining concerns, you should not have to put up
with "trespassing by mine employees,...feticing torn down,... and
distruction and disregard for irrigation ditches." Larry Reschke
indicated that you might have been reterring to problems created
when the county road was upgraded in the area of the mine. It so,
Grand Mesa would not be accountable. However; if this is not the
case, and the accusations you mane are recurrent in nature, the
company could be cited and fined for operating outside of their
approved permit area. If any problems of this nature occur in
the future, you should notify this Division promptly.
If you have any additional comments or questions, please feel
free to contact me at 866-4939.
Sinc1erely,
Dan Mathews
Reclamation Specialist
DM/ej
