Dept. of Natural Resources
Trapper Mining Inc. (permit I.D. No. C-010-81) is submitting reclamation stand-
ards for all areas disturbed prior to May 3, 1978. In addition, standards are
being submitted on Empire Energy Corporation's Williams Fork Strip Pit No.l
disturbance, which Trapper has agreed to reclaim. The attached maps outline
the areas in question.
1.0 Distrubance Prior to May 3, 1978
As discussed in permit section 4.9.4, disturbance in this category will
receive 6 inches of topsoil. Further, permit section 4.4.3 states sep-
arate criteria will be developed for testing reclamation success of these
lands. It is our intention to reclaim these lands to at least a 30% cover
value. Cover values will be determined as outlined in our permit section
4.4.1.1. The seed mix and Fertilization requirements on these areas will
be similar to our procedures used for range sites disturbed after May 3,
1978. As these lands become stable and a 30% cover value is obtained,
Trapper will have experts in the field of range reseeding and range man-
agement from the local SCS, BLM and CSU Extension Service analyze the
site for success. Written comments as to whether the lands have been
satisfactorily reclaimed will be provided to the Division. All lands in
this category will be returned to rangeland.
2.0 Empire Energy Disturbance
As discussed in permit section 4.9.4, this area will not be topsoiled.
As a consequence, normal rangeland seed mixes are not appropriate.
Trapper intends to use a seed mix similar to the following for these
areas. A cover value of at least 30% will be the goal. (Cover values
will be determined as outlined in permit section 4.4.1.1.)
Species ~ PLS/f t2
Critana Thickspike wheatgrass N 3
Fairway Crested wheatgrass Z 2
Amur intermediate wheatgrass S 3
P.O.
