BANTA, Director
November 2, 1988
i'•tr. F1ark Heifrter
37 E. Colorado Avenue
Denver, Colorado 80210
RE: Castle Concrete Company's "Snyder Quarry"
Permit No. M-77-210, E1 Paso County
Dear Mr. Heffner:
At our October 28, 1988 meeting, during which we discussed the status and
maintenance plans for the Snyder Quarry access road, I proposed to discuss the
road situation with the Division Director, Fred Banta (acting as Minerals
Supervisor) for advice regarding permitting requirements.
Upon review of the further specified definition of "affected land" in the
newly revised Finerals Rules and Regulations, copy attached, and the fact that
the quarry access road was constructed primarily to access the mine area, it
was decided that the road should be included as affected land in the Snyder
Quarry Permit No. M-77-210.
The inclusion of the road requires an amendment, as the permit acreage will be
increased. Please provide reclamation plans or a long-term commitment to
maintenance of the road such that additional slides, sedimentation, etc. will
be controlled and/or mitigated.
Please contact me if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Camille P1.
