The approaches
taken by the company to evalua[e and set standards for species diversit_
and shrub density I feel to be logical and sound. I would like to restate
your proposals and make several minor suggestions iti order to clarify the
standards and criteria.
Species Diversity
Idyoming Puel Company will establish a reclaimed vegetative community with
a minimum of six (6) principal species, of which three (3) will be cool
season grasses, two (2) will be shrubs, and one will be a forb. Additionally,
within the post-mining conununity cool season grasses will contribute 7-35%
of the total diversity, shrubs will account for 10-27% of total diversity,
half-shrubs will comprise 1-15% of total diversity, and (orbs will contribute
1-5% to the total diversity.
The Division feels that this is an acceptable standard, with the following
clarifications.
423 Cenlennlal Eiuilding, 1313 Sherman Slrer•t Denver, Colorad~.~ Af1203 Tel (3031 866-3567
